✏️Post-Race Recap for Vado Speedway Park – 7/13/2024

💥Greetings Racing Enthusiasts!

What an electrifying night we had at Vado Speedway Park for our Annual Mesilla Valley Transportation Fireworks Night! With over 4,000 fans in attendance, the stands were packed, and the energy was palpable. It was a perfect evening to introduce newcomers to the thrill of dirt track racing and to create unforgettable memories under the sparkling New Mexico sky. The night was a perfect blend of heart-pounding racing action and a spectacular fireworks finale that left everyone in awe. Let’s dive into the highlights of each race and celebrate the winners of the night!

🚘S. H. Automotive Pure Stocks:

The Pure Stocks feature was a wild ride from start to finish. Bryce Archuleta, the 14-year-old son of racer Mike Archuleta, came out of nowhere, starting from 23rd, and showcased an incredible drive to win the race off a four-lap dash that almost went the way of other young up-and-comer Dawnica Minks. David Garcia Jr., who started right behind Archuleta in 22nd, finished 2nd, proving that persistence pays off. Carlos Irvin, starting 18th, rounded out the podium. The race saw numerous lead changes and dramatic moments, including a late-race flip by early leader Jeffrey Maag Jr., which brought out the red flag. Chris Spear and Sharrii Minks completed the top five, with Sherri earning the hard charger award for her incredible drive from 27th to 5th.

🚗Hulsey Racing Legends:

The Legends feature was a showcase of young talent and seasoned racers alike. Aydan Saunders, starting 10th, put on yet another clinic, navigating through the field to take the victory. Dusty Riggs, who started 9th, finished a strong 2nd, followed by Josh Jackson in 3rd. Saunders’ mastery of the track was evident as he managed lap traffic with precision and maintained his lead despite Riggs’ constant pressure. Vanessa Robinson and Cale Riggs rounded out the top five, with Saunders’ impressive drive making him a crowd favorite.

The USRA Stock Cars feature was nothing short of a rollercoaster. Rob Moseley, starting from the 12th position, showcased his racing prowess by navigating through the field to claim a well-deserved victory. All eyes were on Moseley and his victory lane bestie, Josh Cain, who started 21st and fought his way to a commendable 2nd place finish. Herman Garcia secured 3rd despite the early chaos. The race was filled with intense battles, especially between Moseley and Cain, who raced each other clean but hard for the final 15 laps, demonstrating true sportsmanship and the top tier racing we’ve come to know and love out at Vado Speedway Park. Unfortunately, several drivers, including early leaders like Pete Vargas and Jon Chase Ortiz, faced issues that ended their races prematurely.

In the Modifieds feature, it was a Gallardo Racing family affair. Jake Gallardo started 7th but quickly made his way to the front, ultimately taking the checkered flag. Mark Smith, who started 8th, also had a remarkable run, finishing 2nd. Fito Gallardo, starting from 5th, rounded out the top three. The highlight of the race was the relentless pursuit and strategic maneuvers between Jake and Fito Gallardo, each vying for dominance but maintaining respect for one another. Nathan Smith, despite showing early promise, faced a yellow flag in lap traffic that took the lead from him and put Jake Gallardo in the front after racing hard with his dad Fito. Jake noted in the post-race interview he hoped to race it out with Nathan and looked forward to more opportunities to earn the win.
