Absolutely great racing at Vado Speedway Park from the drop of the first green flag to the wave of the final Ricks Performance Checkered Flag!
We started off the night with the Extreme Landscaping USRA Stock Cars. Early on Josh Reynolds and Jonathan Burton races door to door throwing sliders back and forth for the lead but not far behind them was Mr. Rob Moseley and the Hurricane Josh Cain! Burton was able to secure the lead but Cain found the bottom of the racetrack and managed to race by Burton to ultimately secure the first win of the night!
The Hulsey Racing Legends were ready to tear up the track. Early on Eric LaCroix found himself leading the field with veterans such as Vanessa Robinson, Zach Rodriguez, Dusty Riggs and Jacob Masterson were working their way towards the front. These drivers navigated through the field gracefully and expertly and quickly found themselves in top positions. Dusty Riggs gave LaCroix everything he had and it ended up paying off as LaCroix would slide up just enough out of turn 2 giving Riggs the room he needed to blast past him down the back stretch, and that was enough for the General Lee 01 machine to find its way back up to Rio Grande Waste Services Victory Land.
Up next to do battle was the Johnstone Supply Super Trucks. Where Dawson Manicki started on the pole and was determined to pull away from the field early on! He was absolutely blazing down the track when not far behind, teammate Jaden Gallivan got tangled up and rode the back stretch wall ultimately ending his night. Christy Georges-Barnett was on a mission starting from the back but had heavy hitters like Jake Dart, Scott Kinney, Devan Smith, and Michael Hartman before she could secure a second place finish, but Dawson Manicki navigated lapped traffic perfectly and in a blazing manner to secure his win for the evening!
The Anthony Sosa Roofing Late models roared to life where they were ready to leave it all out on the track. Early on Keko Perez found himself out front where he looked to be running away with the race early on but we still had one of the early on winners of the night, the Hurricane himself, Josh Cain expertly navigating through the field of cars. With the help of a couple cautions we found the battle for the lead to be between the 3 and the 3j as Josh Cain was looking for an opening at the bottom of the racing surface. Cain was able to get us nose in underneath Perez just enough where he could jump out in front and let history repeat itself for the second time tonight as he parked it up on Rio Grande Waste Services Victory lane Once again!
To cap off the night we witnessed the absolutely amazing 4-wide salute to the fans from the Rancho Milagro USRA Modifieds! These drivers set to do battle for 25 Laps around the Vado soeedway park. Rick Ortega and Jimmy Ray set off on the front row battling hard from the beginning! Ray looked absolutely dominant on the bottom of the track through turns 3 and 4 and eventually secured his place in 1st. Behind him was Fito Gallardo, CJ Hulsey, Jake Gallardo, Nick Rivera, and Xavier Ortega all trying to battle for 2nd and 4th all whilst trying to catch the rocket ship that was Jimmy Ray. CJ Hulsey managed to get his Super Mario themed Modified into 5th, GR2 Race Cars found themselves in 4th with Jake and 3rd with Fito. AOS Race cars by Jimmy ray took home the top two with Nick Rivera in second and none other than Jammin Jimmy Ray taking home the final Ricks Performance Center Checkered Flag of the night!
Race fans if you missed out you truly missed a thrilling, heart pumping night of racing action! But don’t fret! We do it all again next week, Saturday August 19th, where we will once again be joined by the Johnstone Suppym Super Trucks and Hulsey Racing Legends. And making their return to the Vado Speedway Park will be the S.H Automotive Pure Stocks, Hacienda Carpet and Tile USRA B Mods, and the Jackson Compaction 305 Winged Sprint cars.
