With great anticipation, the action-packed 2022 schedule for the state-of-the-art Vado Speedway Park in Vado, NM has been finalized and released to the public with 42 races, 14 practice nights, an Enduro, an Awards Ceremony and 11 nights of the 2nd annual Vado Christmas Village dotting the schedule, which runs from January 7th through December 23rd of 2022.

Once again, the Vado Speedway Park will feature USRA-sanctioned Modifieds, B-Mods and Stock Cars, DIRTcar Late Models, POWRi 305 Winged Sprint Cars, NMMRA 360 Non-Winged Sprint Cars, Southwest Super Trucks, INEX Legends and Pure Stocks on a rotating basis throughout the season and hold events primarily on Saturday nights during the upcoming calendar year.

As fans may know, the very popular Claimer class has been transitioned into the Pure Stocks for 2022 with very minimal rule changes from the current rule package.

Also, after a great debut in 2021, the USRA Hobby Stocks will run 4 times at VSP this coming season, on April 9th, May 21st, July 23rd and October 1st.

Highlights of the schedule include:

The Wild West Shootout – 6 nights of Super Late Model, Modified and X-Mod racing on January 8th, 9th, 12, 14th, 15th and 16th.

The Winter Meltdown – USRA Modifieds will headline the two day early season special on Friday and Saturday, March 11th and 12th with big money and bragging rights on the line. B-Mods, Stock Cars and Legends will be in action both nights as well.

World of Outlaw Sprint Cars – the 410 World of Outlaw Sprint Cars invade VSP for the first time ever on Tuesday, March 29th with USRA Modifieds as the support class.

The ever popular Hot City Nights promotion will return for the second straight season, where residents of area cities and towns will be admitted into the facility for just $5 on their chosen night.

The POWRi 360 Winged Sprint Car Desert Series return for four nights, headlining both Memorial and Labor Day weekends for the second straight season, with one slight change. The Memorial Day weekend event will see a practice on Friday with racing on Saturday and Sunday, May 28th and 29th but the Labor Day weekend event will shift slightly to see a practice on Thursday, with racing on Friday and Saturday, September 2nd and 3rd.

The hugely anticipated MVT Fireworks Night will return with the area’s biggest and best fireworks display on Saturday, July 9th.

The very popular Meet the Drivers Nights will return on Saturday, July 23rd and 30th, where fans are able to go onto the front stretch and meet their favorite drivers at intermission.

Our Kid’s Bike Night was one of the most popular events of 2021 and it will return on Saturday, August 27th 2022 where we will once again give away 100 bikes to kids in attendance!

Topless Night is also back where the Modifieds, B-Mods and this year, the Late Models will run without roofs on Saturday, September 24th.

Fan and Driver Appreciation Night is also back on the schedule for Saturday, October 1st.

The 22nd annual Fall Nationals will be back and bigger than ever, paying $22,000 to win the USRA Modifieds on October 21st-23rd.

And to cap off a big season, we introduce a re-imagined event, with a twist. The Turkey Bowl, which was held on Thanksgiving weekend in both 2019 and 2021 will get a new name and a new weekend, as fans will see the Zia Sprint Car Classic held on Friday and Saturday, November 4th and 5th replacing the Turkey Bowl. Both the Winged and Non-Winged Sprint Cars will highlight the weekend with Legends and the 3rd annual Stock Car Super Truck Challenge this weekend as well.

An Enduro is planned for the 12th of November to serve as our final racing event of the 2022 season before the 2nd annual Vado Speedway Park Christmas Village returns for 11 nights, running on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from December 1st thru 23rd.
