Blaeser Banks 2019 Vado Legends Title; Tackles Sprint Car Class In 2020

15-year-old Daniel Blaeser etched his name in the history books by being crowned as the first ever Vado Speedway Park Legend division champion after the 2019 season. Blaeser, from nearby La Mesa, New Mexico, raced to the final Southern New Mexico Speedway Legends division championship in 2018 as well, capping off back-to-back championship seasons over the last two seasons in the process.

Blaeser won the championship by 49 markers over El Paso, Texas racer Gunner Harris when the final point totals were calculated. Out of the 11 events the Legends ran during the abbreviated 2019 season, Daniel won three times, finished in the top five on eight occasions and ran inside the top ten in all eleven starts providing the consistency that is necessary to win a championship.

Daniel began his racing career when he was just 7 years old in Go Karts and ran Karts until 2015. He then moved into the Legends division in 2016 when hew as 11 years old and has had much success during his four-year career. Not only has he won back to back track championships, but he also finished fifth in the overall national points standings in 2018 as well.

2020 will see another new adventure for the teenager as he will move into the 305 Winged Sprint Car division full time, focusing on making laps and becoming a competitive driver in the top tier division.

Daniel’s dad Dan and mom Tamara help turn the wrenches on the car and serve as his pit crew throughout the season.

The state-of-the-art Vado Speedway Park, located in Vado, New Mexico opened in June of 2019 and held a total of thirty events during between the June 14th opener and the November 30th finale. The track will enter its second season in 2020 with over 30 events planned for its sophomore year.
