Garcia Garners Inaugural Vado Super Truck Championship; Looks To Have More Fun In 2020

The inaugural Southwest Super Truck track championship at the all new Vado Speedway Park in Vado, New Mexico went to Las Cruces, New Mexican Mike Garcia. Mike has been racing for twenty seasons and now has a place in history as being crowned as the first ever Super Truck track champion at VSP.

Mike is the owner of Las Cruces-based The Bodyworks and also carries sponsorship from Signal 88 Security, Torres Welding, Lunchini’s Towing, Pinetop Construction, Dynamic Race Engines, Norm’s Carburetor and Rick’s Performance Center.

Garcia, 46, won the first ever Super Truck main event at the Vado Speedway Park when it first opened back in June and carried that winning momentum into racing to the 2019 track title at season’s end.

Mike’s career began in 2000 competing in the Stock Car division, where he raced for five seasons. He then moved into the Super Truck class in 2006, where he has competed off and on for the past fifteen seasons.

Mike has a stellar pit crew that assists him in the shop and at the track, including Lloyd Duffy, Richard Smith, Kase Smith, Gunner Smith and Rhonda Woody.

Looking forward to the 2020 season, Mike plans on competing weekly at the Vado Speedway Park trying to defending his 2019 championship.

The state-of-the-art Vado Speedway Park, located in Vado, New Mexico opened in June of 2019 and held a total of thirty events during between the June 14th opener and the November 30th finale. The track will enter its second season in 2020 with over 30 events planned for its sophomore season.
