The Third Annual $5,000 to win Casa Nissan Legends Spring Fling presented by Sound & Signal kicked off with a good amount of cars. Shaw Trucking Southwest Late Models, Jack Key Auto Group USRA X-Mods, Sun Valley Hardware USRA Stock Cars, and Rancho Milagro USRA Modified action helped kicked off the Spring Fling.

Ten Shaw Trucking Southwest Late Models checked in for battle on opening night calling for a great race. Christy Barnett lead the whole way while Fito Gallardo worked second. Xavier Ortega came to the front and made some noise. Jacob Gallardo and Xavier Ortega had a good battle for third. Jacob would get momentum and find a good tempo. Fito would have a handful of the j17 as Jacob would get around him on lap eight of the twenty lap main event. Things would spread out until lap sixteen when lapped traffic came into play. Christy would lap Duane Murphy, Donnie Newcomb, and Rusty Bowen with Jacob Gallardo catching her! Action got even spicier with a yellow flying on lap seventeen! Newcomb went flying off of turn three to make it a green, green, white, checker finish. On the restart, Christy Barnett had a pair of Gallardos on her tail. Jacob Gallardo showed Christy Barnett some sheet metal on the bottom and would take the lead by a hair on parts around the racetrack. The exit of turn four was all owned by Barnett though as she would roll to the checker flag. The race may have been over, but after every race podium finishers head to tech and scales. Christy Barnett would get disqualified for her RPM chip not working on her MSD box. Therefore Jacob Gallardo would be your winner for the Shaw Trucking Southwest Late Models.

Jake Gallardo won the Shaw Trucking Southwest Late Model feature.

Fifteen Jack Key Auto Group USRA X-Mods checked in for battle, with only ONE caution! Justin Allen and Rick Hall shared the front row of the twenty lap main event. Rick Hall in his Rick's Performance Center machine would show the way early until Jimmy Ray pulled a trick out of the bag and passed Hall for the lead on lap three. Jimmy would show the way with good racing behind him. Jesse Hayne the "Ice Man" started outside row six and was moving! Noah Hollingshead and Timmy Tharp got together after racing hard with the 38 of Hector Prigione in turns three and four. On the restart Jimmy Ray would gas up that A.O.S Racing, Mesilla Valley Transportation, Little Amigos Day Care #9 to victory lane. Jesse Hayne drove from twelfth starting position to second in tonight's Jack Key Auto Group USRA X-Mod main event!

With only six Sun Valley Hardware USRA Stock Cars checking in, it was one of the best main events we've seen in a while for USRA Stock Car racing here at the Southern New Mexico Speedway. The track was very fast on multiple groves tonight calling for side by side and even four wide racing in the opening night of the Spring Fling. Donovan Flores and Jaime Torres shared the front row of tonight's fifteen lap main event. At the start Jaime Torres found momentum early on the top with Donovan following. Jaime would lead with a good lead until lap four when Flores found gold on the bottom. Donovan Flores would catfish the Southern New Mexico Speedway and go side by side for the lead! Donovan was very good out of turn four and would lead while side by side with Torres. Jason Josselyn would also have a good battle going on with Nathan Smith. Those two drivers went hard for third, and ending with a photo finish for fourth at the end. With two exciting battles going on the race track the fans started pulling out their smart phones and recording the race! Flores and Torres would still be toe to toe with three laps to go! It was to close to call every go around between the two with Torres on the top, and Flores on the bottom. With two laps to go Jed Smith would be a lapped car in your leaders view. Smith was running the top and forced Torres to slow down. Donovan Flores would run off to win the Sun Valley Hardware USRA Stock Car main event.

Jared Perez and Bumper Jones shared the front row in tonight's twenty-five lap Rancho Milagro USRA Modified main event. Fito Gallardo who started inside row two jumped to the lead quick! Gallardo would lead lap one, until Bumper Jones had a good power move on the exit of turn four the next trip around and would lead lap two. Bumper pulled away until a caution flew on lap eight for Joe Lackey looping it out of turn four. On the restart another caution came out for Jimmy Ray going around on the back straightaway and Gregory Gorham having nowhere to go and hitting Jimmy Ray really hard sending him looping multiple times. Bumper Jones would lead a lap after that caution era. Fito Gallardo and Zane DeVilbiss were battling for second until Fito had his two right tires off the back and getting all four back on the track but couldn't save it entering turns three and four sending him up and over to draw a yellow. After that yellow Bumper Jones didn't run away that easy this time. The next five lap green flag run was a Bumper Jones v.s Jacob Gallardo show for the lead! It was a stellar battle until Kevin Clark spun on the top of turn two. After that fourth and final caution the field would spread out and Bumper Jones would pull away to win the USRA Modified main event.

Bumper Jones won the Rancho Milagro USRA Modified feature.

Thirty-one Casa Nissan Legends checked in for battle calling for a last chance race. Top eight would punch their ticket into the main. In the main event Dusty Riggs and Baiden Hesket would start up front. Dusty Riggs would show the early four laps until a caution flew for Dave Smith taking out Justin Lasiter in turn one. Dusty would lead the following lap until another caution flew this time for Derek DeMartino! Derek would spin in turn two. Joplin, Missouri driver Dave Comer would pass Riggs two laps after the yellow and would be gone!! The impressive lead that Comer had put was all erased by Dylan Harris. Dusty Riggs followed the 4z and would then pass them both for the lead. Dusty put on a good run until the final five laps. C.J. Hulsey who was just hanging out in the top five finally made a move. Hulsey closed the gap Riggs had and passed him for the lead with five laps to go and would roll to victory!! Top four got locked into Saturday's $5,000.00 to win finale. Top four: Cj Hulsey, Dusty Riggs, Baiden Hesket, and Tim Brockhouse.
